BBQ was a great success and thanks to Larry Maggi and son along with others including Gordon in putting on the eateries. There was a brief Show-and-Tell as well. Hats also go off to Jon Sauer for the demo on the use of chatter tools, and fo being the No 1 Dad, both videos are below.
Jon showed with a home made tool, good hardwood end grain, that you could make a spiral chatter pattern on the wood. It is not too predictable, and takes some getting used to with good old trial and error.

He uses these for topping over a spinning top or whatever.
He parts the thin textured surface off with a most thin parting tool.
