September Meeting: Jon Sauer - chattering on the lathe
|

This was the follow-on to the July meeting during which Jon Sauer described the technique of chattering.
Because the elevator was broken in July and the lathe was not available, Jon chatted instead of chattering.
This time we saw the real thing. Jon gave us a very comprehensive description and demonstration.

President Message
- October 2016
At the last meeting, nominations were opened for the elected board positions.
Elections will be held at this month's
(October) meeting.
Candidates for the elected positions are:
President - Tom Kenyon
Vice President - Bob Bley
Treasure - Bud Trapp
Secretary - Duncan MacMillian
Member at large - David Vannier (elected by the board)
We have two open committee positions for next year, the program coordinator and CY glue.
David has done a great job this year bringing us interesting programs.
We need somebody to step forward and take over this job.
There is lots of help for the leader, but we need the leader.
Ken has handled the CY glue for the last couple of years.
We need someone to step forward to take over this task.
It is important that the club operates generally according to the bylaws
but the bylaws should reflect how the club would like to operate.
If they are out of sync, than one of the other should be revised.
Currently the bylaws require the nomination of officers in September and election in October.
I proposed that this be revised to nominations in October and elections in November.
I will BRIEFLY open this topic for discussion at the next meeting with proposed bylaw revisions for November meeting.
I believe this a minor change and will bring the bylaws and current club operation closer together.
