AAW sets up a Youth Turning Room with 25 mini-lathes complete with chucks, tools and equipment for the Youth Turning Program.
This committee is responsible for assembling the lathes and sharpening tools before the symposium, and then moving everything into the youth room and setting it up on Thursday.
The lathes, tools, chucks and face shields are donated by manufacturers, but then given away to the youth participants in a drawing on Saturday night.
The lathes have to be broken down and boxed up on Sunday afternoon for the lucky winners to take home. If you can help, please contact SVW member John Whittier (jwhit10506@aol.com) who chairs this committee.
